Pay for support help

Should be easy for you long time users, I want to HIRE, someone to log in and fix what’s wrong with my setup!!

We can use teamvier or the like…but I have half as much hair now trying to get this to work. Newest software is installed, how ever, moving media to the right folder is problematic.

Any takers?

Can you elaborate on this?

I just can’t seem to get it.

I have Synology 1515+ and have loaded MY videos/pictures/homemovies into folders.
I Then put on Plex Server and upgraded it to the newest version. Ver: 1.18.1.1973-0f4abfbcc

I go Plex site and log in. It finds my NAS, it loads NEWS and Podcasts, but none of my stuff. So, go to dropdowns on Libraries. Music-Manage Library-edit and add media. choose directory and say add.folders. Then I scan the folders.
Nothing is any different. Still Nothing.

I have uninstalled Plex, reinstalled, updated versions and still must be doing something wrong.

So, just want someone to login and find out what is going on and get it going.

Interested?

What client are you using?
Web browser, some smart device?

Chrome.

On the left side click the hamburger looking icon next to plex.
click more at the bottom
click the 3 dots next to the items you want and select pin

I think that should get you what you are looking for.

That is the area for sure that seems to be an issue. Here is what mine looks like. ANNA is the server.
When I pin, then manage my Library… Here is what I get when I add the files. (see Photo)

It is the root directory of the synology. AND if I use file explorer locally, I see all my movies under the Movies\DVDs directory.

Sounds like a permissions issue since you can brows the dirs and see teh content but Plex cannot.

This was the issue, Permissions !! TX_Redneck and YOU BigWheel, Thank you for the link to the article as it spelled it out.

I changed the permissions and then could go as granular as I wanted to add media!! I am sooo relieved!!

Thank you to ALL of you that replied with suggestions. This forum is Awesome!

Glad to hear you got it squared away, now if the Plex devs could fix the long standing problem with the Xbox app buffering for no reason, I’d be happy too.

What say you @BigWheel
