Unable to add media folders

Hello,

I’m running Plex Server on my Synology DS918+. Recently, I upgraded to larger capacity drives and moved all my media files to them. I installed Plex on the new drive via Synology DSM 7 and configured the necessary permissions for Plex and the shared folder containing my media. However, Plex is currently unable to locate the subfolders with my media.

I would appreciate some assistance with this. Thank you!

I also tried typing in the media path manually, but that didn’t work.

Make sure to grant access to the correct user, depending on what version of DSM you’re running on your Syno NAS.

I’m running DSM 7 and I’m the sole user of the system, so I believe all access permissions are correctly set.

No, they’re not.
The permission system for apps running on Synos has significantly changed with DSM 7. Check out the linked guide and use the system account PlexMediaServer – to select the system accounts you’ll need to change the account selection dropdown in FileStation… those are not listed among the list of local users!!

I see it now. That resolves the issue. Thank you, Tom80H!
