In the last few weeks my PC will lose it’s connection to the Plex Server that’s on my Nvidia Shield Pro, but I still remain connected to the media drive that’s connected to the Shield. It happens several times a day.
My setup is:
Nvidia Shield Pro connected to external JBOD. The Plex Server files are running from an SSD in the JBOD.
Shield Pro is wired to an R9000 router. I have transfer over ethernet setup.
I recently set up the Shield with a Static IP (following suggestions from a google search), and made the appropriate adjustments in the Router.
My computer is Windows 11 and also wired into the router. I have all the latest updates on the Computer and Shield Pro
When I login to the Plex Web app, I’ll see my library. But if I come back at a later point, the library is gone, and refreshing doesn’t help. Sometimes unplugging the Shield ethernet cable from the router and plugging back in helps. If that doesn’t work I have to turn on the Shield and reboot it. Then I can refresh the web app and I see the library (but I have to pin all my libraries to the side again). When the Web app loses the Shield’s Plex server, my computer still sees the storage that’s attached to the Shield. So the ethernet cable isn’t the issue.
Sometimes on the Shield, the Plex library won’t be seen and I have to hit Retry and it may come back or I have to reboot.
When the thing is working I still have remote access in other locations, so those settings still work.
Was there a recent update that broke the Plex Server on the Shield Pro?
