Hi,
PC (plex server)
Raspi (RasPlex Client)

How to ;
(video source pc)
Movie video out --> Raspi (Hdmi to projector)
Movie sound out --> Pc (5.1)

How to do ?

Not possible.
You need to get the sound from your projector
or put an AVR inbetween RasPi and projector.

No. I don’t know whether your projector has any sound output at all.

With ‘AVR’ I mean an ‘Audio/Video Receiver’.
These have HDMI inputs and outputs.
If you go with HDMI wires

  • from the RasPi into the AVR
  • from the AVR into your projector

then the AVR has a chance to extract the ‘bitstreamed’ audio from the HDMI connection and decode it (into which Surround sound configuration you choose) and send this then to your speakers.

Pick whichever model fits your requirements and budget in regard to

  • numbers of HDMI inputs and outputs
  • decodeable surround sound formats (DTS, dolby digital, AAC, TrueHD, Atmos etc pp)
  • number of speaker outputs
  • other features

I haven’t tested this, but you can also use an HDMI audio extractor to do a similar service to @OttoKerner’s AVR suggestion.

That will allow you to run sound to another audio device. If you’re not on an extreme budget and the physical layout allows, AVR is the preferred solution.

Any modern home theater solution with hdmi in/out will make the trick
