Just like the ability to change posters and fanart for Movies and TV Shows, I'd like this feature to work for Home Movies. For my home movies, I have the section set up using the Plex Series Media Scanner, and Personal Media Shows as the metadata agent. I have my structure as follows.
/Home Movies
/Kylie
/2009
S2009E01 - Grandma Holding.mkv
S2009E02 - Closeup with Daddy.mkv
S2009E03 - Hanging with Cousins.mkv
Thumbnails create for each movie successfully. However, the poster artwork for the "Kylie" and "2009" folders in PMS just display as blank. I've tried adding .jpg files as poster.jpg, foldername.jpg, etc. Nothing seems to successfully create a thumbnail.
Is there anyone else that would like to see this feature?
I agree this would be very nice. When I organize my personal home movies by folder it would be great if I could give the folder a poster the same way I do for things looked up via metadata
I can’t confirm this, but ‘show.jpg’ might work if dropped into the ‘Kylie’ folder. What you’re using ‘kind of’ imitates a TV Show directory structure, but misses a little wide of the mark.

images named like that will absolutely do the trick.
According to:
This ‘may’ trick Plex into doing what you want, but in an Other Videos Library - your only option - it may not work as expected:
If that’s not confusing enough - I’ll take another crack at it…
Basically if you want to try to mimic a TV Show Structure in an Other Videos Library type you’ll have to follow the TV Show Library Rules and Regulations - or just name your images exactly like your videos and drop 'em in along side.
