Phone and car display occasionally don't have the same artwork

Streaming from phone to Tesla via Bluetooth

There have been other examples, but the most recent song was by Nirvana. The song name and album title matched, but the art displayed in my car was from a different Nirvana album. All data matched when I looked at the app on my phone.

This isn’t a major problem, all things being considered. But Tesla recently muffed up artwork when playing files from a USB device. As in, no art has been visible since October. Using Plex, I’m so happy to see the images again, so when some are wrong I get a twitch in my right eye…

Is it possible the iPhone app is searching the web for art other than what’s embedded in each file?

I noticed today that the car displayed artwork different than what the phone displayed. To recap, here are the scenarios so far:

  1. no art displays on the car, correct art displays on phone

  2. art displays on car, different from correct art on phone

  3. same art on both displays, car is zoomed in (this happened on George Michael’s Older. The car zoomed in on his eyeball, while my phone displayed the entire correct artwork)

  4. same art on both displays (no eye twitch during this)

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Is this topic in the wrong category, perhaps?

I’m 99% sure that the Plex app for iPhone was searching the web for artwork. I was certain the setting for “using embedded artwork” was selected. Oh well.

Switching to Plexamp has solved my issue, in case anyone else has the same experience.
