Photo Album? How do I view it?

I have a folder structure as

Year2018
Jan
Feb

Year2017
Jan
Feb

Ideally I would like to view my photos per FOLDER but I guess this cannot be done? (strange)

However, I can see you can add folders to "Album’ but how do i view these?

In Plex Web when you select your Photos library, you have a drop-down that gives three options to select from
Photos Timeline and Albums

The Photos view gives you your top level folders view - so you will see folders Year2018 and Year2017 etc
You can open each to see the contents of the underlying folders

So for example, you have the library defined with a path of D:\Media\Photos
and under D:\Media\Photos you have the Year2018 and Year2017 etc folders

I dont see the albums part…

I use version Version 3.31.1. Am I accessing it wrong?

The Albums view is a new virtual album feature where you can assign photos to album names

See Photos library section info on this support article

what version is the Plex Media Server in which the Photos library is held ?

I think it may be a Plex Pass feature - will try and find out

Yes - Albums is a Plex Pass feature

Just came across this because I had the same issue of not being able to view photo albums I created. I did find a way to view them, you have to search for the name of the album in the search bar at the top that searches all of your libraries. It seems kinda broken and I’m surprised it hasn’t been fixed since this was posted.

I do not have the “Albums” options in the drop-down either. Just the “Photos” and “Timeline”.

Is there something that I need to turn off or on?

I am running the latest build (as of today) on Ubuntu 18.04. The installation seems stable and works otherwise.

Edit: I think that I figured this out. FIRST you have to create a Playlist–ANY playlist. THEN the playlist section will show up. I you have no Playlists, and photo Albums do not count apparently, then the Playlist section will not show up. Once you have Playlist section shows up there are two options: Music and Photo. This also causes the Album section to show up in the Photos section.

NOTE
This should be fixed so that either 1) the Playlist section (and Album option) show up from the beginning without having to create a playlist first or 2) the Playlist and Album sections should appear after a Playlist OR an Album is created.

Edit: You can delete the first Playlist that you created after the Photos (Albums) section shows up and both (Playlists and Photos [Albums]) stay available. So this is a confirmed workaround. Hopefully Plex will change this behavior.
