(forgive me if this specific topic is currently active - I could not find it off-hand)
I have huge libraries of pictures and have just started testing Plex, as I want to make PMS my central platform, on XBOX One
I am observing serious latency issues with the XBOX One client when playing back picture libraries (folders), even with the latest prod Plex server release and client, whereas I have no real issues with DLNA on XBOX One, or the Plex IOS client and absolutely none with my native QNap IOS client.

Scary amount of latency in getting even halfway through the preview of a folder containing 700 jpg’s (>5 mins) and load times of a selected picture of 1/2 second to, much more common, >1 minute. Sometimes the preview hangs altogether. I have also tried this with smaller libraries and am still experiencing, although somewhat lesser, problems.

Folder preview works fine, sometimes a little latency loading a selected pic (<2-3 secs)

It seems that if DLNA on XBOX One gets reasonable results and the QNAP IOS app get great results I can eliminate network problems.
One possible root causes which comes to mind is that the XBOX One client does not transcode or render the previews as “thumbnails” until hitting the client. Maybe a configuration error on my side?
