I have been using Plex for several years and have recently decided to share family photos. I have created the library with several thousand photos and as I am a Plex Pass user, I have enabled the’Tag Photos’ and ‘Save Location Names’ features but was disappointed that the metadata for geolocation and date etc. is not more visible or usable.
I have one issue that since I enabled the ‘Tag Photos’ it seems to have screwed up the library in that a large proportion do not have thumbnails, but when I select and analyse, thumbnails are then displayed. I have tried deleting the library and recreating it but the issue remains. I have seen suggestions within the forums that this may be impacted by Synology Drive and it so happens that I am using Synology Drive to Sync my entire media library from the Plex Server to a Synology NAS, however, I could not find anything concrete to suggest this was an issue or how to resolve it.
For the Photo library, I would also like to request some enhancements;
- Option to show geolocation with thumbnail
- Option to show Date with thumbnail
- Filter photos by geolocation, date or device
- Create Albums from geolocation, date or device
Specify and use level of detail for location within displays and filters
- Country
- City
- Street
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
