After updating to the latest server version this week, my photos libraries are failing all over the place. Instead of showing me the pictures I get an error indicating “something went wrong, an unexpected error occurred”. It seems to happen anytime you try to go lower than the top level of the library. As note, I also installed the latest on my dad’s windows machine as a brand new subscriber and he is having the same issues. We had to give up on his for now, but mine has worked for years and only stopped working with this latest update. It seems we have a bug or there is some steps we need to take after upgrading?
The only way to recover is to close out of plex and restart. Its annoying and still doesn’t let me look at my pictures.
This issue was reported in July last year so you are not alone. I have downgraded back to the old version (1.40.2.8395) while wating for it to be fixed.
Thank you. I tried the downgrade, but it hasn’t improved. Did you have to completely rebuild your photo library after you downgraded? Haven’t tried that yet, guess worth a shot but thought I would check first.
I only went one version higher so I may have got away with it. I also rebuilt the photo library a number of times to see if it worked so it may have helped?
