I noticed this just now. I had been watching a video from my movies library and had muted it, later I went over to my photos library, which has videos in it. I noticed there was no audio, remembered that I had muted it, unfortunately there was no volume control.
Unfortunately, this topic was never picked up by anyone. One year later, I am facing the same issue:
The video player, when started from within photo libraries, is missing essential controls like volume and others. It looks like it is a very stripped down version of the normal video player.
I get it. It’s a photo library, right? Many people shoot videos from their phones though and they end up in the same storage location as the photos. Plex can play them, even when inside a photo library, but I am not sure why we’re not seeing the full blown video player here. Oversight? Bug?
