Photos Timeline View not updating since 1.18.0.x

Server Version#: 1.18.1.1973
Player Version#: All

Photos are still uploading via phone backup as per usual, photos show in folder view, show in “recently added” but timeline hasn’t updated since October 18th.

I refreshed all meta data, re-scanned files, etc.

Anyone else seeing this issue? Logs attached.Plex Media Server Logs_2019-10-28_08-51-34.zip (3.1 MB)

Yes, I have the same problem

Updating the Android client seems to have fixed it for me. I still have a swath of photos which do not show up on the timeline (unsure why) but new photos going up do.

I am not seeing some pictures show up in my timeline view from May or Recently in my timeline, and I have tried a couple of times to remove all the photos from the folder they are added in, and then put them back in there. Yet, when I search for the file name it shows up just fine, just not in the timeline view.

I also have same issue and already updated my Plex server to latest version. I have two plex servers and having issue on both servers with timeline.

Jan 1, 1900 date is coming for some of files randomly…not sure how to fix this. .

Having exactly the same issue. New pictures are randomly thrown into a random date. For example. The most recent date is 11/30/19. I have taken pictures today, and within the last week. I have a newborn so a lot of pictures are being taken. For an experiment I took a bunch of pictures today and made sure they upload through the plex app and showed up on my NAS. I found them on my timeline, but the pictures I took today are randomly (or so it seems) thrown on a date from last week. They were all taken today within 5 minutes of each other but show up on the timeline on different days, incorrect days.

Any insight @plex?

Hi,

Any update about this issue ? I just had to move some photos to another folder inside the same library and they disappeared from timeline. I tried rescan, refresh metadata… nothing works. I can see it in folder view, but not in timeline. I’m clueless !

I seem to have a similar problem. I haven’t had my camera upload on for a few months so after the new year festivities I turned on the camera upload and the photos I took (and the last few months worth that hadn’t been uploaded yet) show up under the Jan 1, 2020 date, but that date/section is in between Oct 19 and Oct 20 2019 on my timeline. That Jan 1, 2020 section also contains a lot of the other photos previous to Jan 1 2020 photos that were uploaded when I turned the camera upload back on. Like all the uploaded photo’s are keying off upload date instead of taken date, but only for the Jan 1, 2020 section. which isn’t in the right spot in the timeline. I know I’m stretching/theorizing here, but it’s like it threw the Jan 1 section in to the timeline where I turned off the camera upload, or when earliest date of the newly uploaded photos should be, but still lumping them together and naming the section as the last date taken photos.

Plex Team… can some one please have a look…
Let me know if any data is required…
I have 3 boxes running same data… and each runs the time line in its own way
Windows is worst… there is no date at all …

Team,

What is requried… to look at this issue.
