Friends I am sharing with are now having to enter a PIN before PLEX will launch. What changed to require them to do that?
Are they using your account?
Or do they have their own account and you created a SHARE?
If they are using your account, the PIN is how plex authenticates your account for any new device
I created a SHARE. On ROKU or on the PC, they select their PLEX account and then are asked for a PIN prior to being shown the normal home screen (as I understand it… I’m getting this over the phone from them)
Interestingly they had some network work done at their home and immediately afterward they were told on their ipad and iphone that they needed to pay the fee again to access plex. All photos appeared with a watermark. Without doing anything (they said) and over about a two week time period the request for the purchase went away, so did the watermarks and then the PIN. Event their ROKU asks for the PIN now too. Did their SHARE go away?
So on their Roku it should ask for a PIN (once) to connect the plex app on the Roku to their Plex account using plex.tv/link. If it is continually doing it then that’s an issue that need to be worked out
