PKC choose between getting from Plex and HDD

Hi, I use Kodi on a Raspberry Pi as a travel player. Some locations the internet is OK, some it’s useless. So I have set up the Pi to have main menu options for Plex movies / TV and HDD movies/TV . This works OK using the official Plex app, problem is that doesn’t work properly with some skins and I don’t like the interface.

So with PKC it seems to default to the plex server when I ask it to play from HDD. Unplug the HDD and it’s playing from the server. Likewise, if I unplug the ethernet cable no media can be played - even from the HDD.

Any clues as to how I can get it to work from both sources please?

For this to work with Plex, the media your PMS uses needs to be on that hdd and accessible for both Kodi and the PMS.

If you use network paths for setting up the PMS libraries as explained here AND Kodi is able to resolve these paths even when being offline, this should work. https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect/wiki/Option-2-Substitute-Paths-on-the-PMS

This is VERY difficult to setup, I think

Thanks for the reply. I think this is beyond my capabilities. I think I might have to stick with the default Plex app.

Or just leave “Addon Paths” and don’t try Direct Paths. You’ll be fine :wink:
