Are there plans to extend the DVR features to include satellite tuners (DVB-S2) as well (Freesat)? There is little to no DVB-T/DVB-T2 coverage where I am, so the house was cabled for freesat, and I’m really keen to integrate into Plex…
(Example card would be WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2 from Hauppauge)

More tuners will come. No ETA. For the meantime you can use a Enigma2 box or tvhProxy (Tvheadend) if you want DVB-S2 now.
What do yo u mean by you can use Enigma2? Am i missing something here? Plex DVR doesn’t support Enigma2 as a tuner does it?
yes it does, using the plugin i coded, see this thread, https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/274004/enigma2-support-for-plex-dvr-livetv#latest, also links in my signature.
I have a dual DVB-S2 PCI-E tuner so the DVR function is totally useless for me. Maybe later but for now I can’t use/pay for Plex. I hope the devs realise that we don’t all want or use DVB-T (In the UK) DVB-S seems to be a better selection of channels.
My reply isn’t meant as a dig at plex but the more you cover, the more you’ll get in return

One up! Me, too, own an age old Nova HD-S2. Currently, I have to use tvheadend to record my shows.
I’ve a BGT3600 (Dual DVB-T2, dual DVB-S2) I’d love to get directly hooked in to the server (at the moment it records on MythTV box)
I’m glad I’m not on my own and maybe the devs will provide a “real” DVR function that covers all devices and types
As well as the already included, I would say we need support for…
PCI-E/USB tuners (All signal types)
Playlist Access (m3u/m3u8) Not all are dodgy!
It cost me £4 to find out that it wouldn’t work and although Plex is great. It’s still not quite there for the lifetime subscription.
