I recently ‘upgraded’ to Plex Pass to be able to stream Plex on my PS3. I was able to get the account recognized on the PS3, but it throws the ‘can’t find a sever’ error when trying to connect. Every other device on my network from iPad, to Android Phone, to Chromecast, to PC, to Roku can see the server and stream from it with no problem. I’ve read through several forums seeking a solution to this problem, have tried restarting the router, server, host computer, and PS3 to no avail. I searched for a contact email to send my question to Plex in hopes of receiving some guidance without bothering the community with a trivial problem that has likely been answered before, but the contact email and resolution has escaped my obviously lacking Google ninja skills. Thanks for your help!
tl;dr - PS3 can’t see Plex server, but every other device on network can.
I’ve been having the exact same issue but I’ve been ignoring it since the DLNA server works fine on the PS3 but I’m really missing the features with the Plex app and the DLNA won’t resume from where I last. I thought that it might be my VPN but I tried the steps here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204604227-Why-can-t-the-Plex-app-find-or-connect-to-the-server-
And it had no effect. My plex server can sign in just fine with the VPN enabled and it works perfectly on 360, android, and windows.
The only other thing that I can think of that might be causing an issue is the fact that the server is connected on wifi and the PS3 is wired.
TL;DR: I too would like help figuring out why the PS3 plex app can’t find/connect to the server.
