Hi there, so I got the plex pass just so I could stream my movies/tv through different devices, especially a PS4 and a PS3 located in my house, but for some reason no matter what I do the apps on these devices keep saying they cannot find a media server to connect to, even though I have everything set up on my computer. I’m super confused and frustrated that I cannot get this to work, I’ve tried searching the forums and just online in general to see if I could find a clear answer, but I couldn’t. I guess I’m not as computer savvy as I thought I was, but this is getting old quick. As I read on your FAQ page, I turned off the VPN connection, which didn’t work, and then I also disabled my firewall (which doesn’t sound great in the first place) but I still cannot get the apps to connect to my plex. Help.
So for some reason, the sever I guess was assigned to an email that wasn’t mine that was established on this computer. Once I signed out under that email and signed back into my email/server the app connected. Problem solved.
Can you explain in greater detail how you fixed the issue. I’ve got the exactly same problem and only on my PS3. Everything works fine on my other devices. Just doesn’t make sense.
Its not a fix but a work around I have used in the past was to enable DLNA on the Plex server.
I’ve already got it enabled…
