I’m experiencing this annoying problem on several different Samsung televisions (and several previous server/player versions, too)
player version #1: 5.75.1 (platform v3)
player version #2: 5.78.2 (platform v7)
I’m completely sure it’s not a client-side issue because it occurs not only on my own devices and not just on Samsung TVs. BTW, there’s another topic on the forum tagged with “player-windows” and “plex-htpc.”
The error happens frequently, but I haven’t figured out what’s causing it yet. I only experience it with TV shows, and mostly when I try to continue watching an episode that I had previously paused (especially after a long time). Unfortunately, this pattern has recently been broken, as it has also happened when I tried to start a new episode that I hadn’t watched before, and I still got the same error message.
The only way I can bypass this error is by marking the affected episode as watched, then unwatched, exiting to the main page, and going back.
This has been an ongoing issue for years, and it’s very frustrating. I’m surprised it hasn’t been fixed after all this time.
