Playback error on FireTv using Synology NAS

Server Version#:1.18.8.2527-740d4c206
Player Version#: Latest Fire Stick TV

Morning everyone, hope you can help!
So I recently migrated over to the Synology NAS, which is where my libraries are kept, and installed the PMS. Now, I can access it and play movies just fine to my computer(windows 10) no issue, but when I try streaming to the TV upstairs, we have a problem.

I can see the server, I see all the listings just fine, but whenever I try playing a 1080p movie, I get the error:

“An error has occured while attempting to play this video, please try restarting both the plex media server and this app”

I do not get this when I try playing a 480p movie. I have tried all the suggestions about turning direct stream/play on/off, etc… and it looks like some of those, I can’t even do because the setting options are limited.

What’s weird is when I run the PMS on my windows 10 machine, zero issues, plays the exact same 1080p movies just fine. Both NAS and PC are hooked into the same wifi router, so it can’t be a signal strength issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you all!

Synology model?

FireStick model?

Plex app version on the FireStick? Please verify.

To verify, look in Authorized Devices or launch the Plex app on the FireStick, go into settings, and look in the lower right corner of your screen.

Play the movie, no subtitles.

Is the video or audio transcoding?

Look in the Now Playing section of the Plex Dashboard. See Princess Bride example below.

Please include an equivalent screenshot in your reply, if possible.

FYI, if the video is transcoding, the CPU in your NAS is probably struggling to keep up. See Plex NAS Compatibility List and Plex NAS Compatibility Guide (linked on that page) for additional information.
