Playback error on Samsung TV model 2019

gues only with transcode? same problem here. trying to downgrade plex server now.

Some files do work, some don’t
The Plex app for Samsung smart TV’s is just horrible
This issue returns every couple of months

did not work on downgrading plex. gues the error is on the app on the samsung tv

This solution seems to work:

Long story short:

  • Set your server to allow insecure connections (I set it to prefer secure ones but still allow insecure ones)
  • Set your client to allow insecure connections to “always”.

Of course, this is rather a workaround than an actual solution, but since I dont really use PLEX from outside my home, this is totally fine.

That solution did not work. My tv is only 2 years old and it is suppported anyhow.

I don’t believe this is the certificate issue affecting encryption, as I only get this problem on Transcoded sessions.

From the log file, I am seeing :

Oct 04, 2021 21:26:28.509 [38856] ERROR - Unable to find client profile for device; platform=Tizen, platformVersion=5.5, device=20_KANTSU2_UHD_BASIC, model=UE75TU7000KXXU

I have the same issue with transcoding…

I’m seeing this on local streaming. Definitely think it’s related to the self-signed certificates expiring at the end of September.

I’m having the same issue. I can still cast anything I want via laptop or phone to the TV but not off the app on the TV.
