yup i have same… mkv doesnt play anymore
Will do, I had forgotten en allow insecure on the server dough, so before providing logs, can you let me know if it is supposed to work with secure login when I have a 2018 TV with 5.25.3?
I still have problem on my Samsung TV to read my files.
Did Plex communicate on any issues to solve this ?
Same problem here, rolled back to 1.23.xxxx and Samsung works again
How did you do that?
with docker, specify version number as the tag
otherwise just get the right deb file
I’m also experiencing the sudden issue where I can’t play any files through the built-in Plex app on my Samsung TV (UA55KU6000 - 2016 model). I got notice in email on 30 September that Plex will no longer be able to use secure connections, so shortly after I disabled secure connections and things continued as normal until the past few days.
As soon as I press play on any media I get the error “An unexpected playback error has occurred”.
Looking through console and I get the following error as soon as the error occurs:
“Unable to find client profile for device; platform=Tizen,platformVersion=2.4,device=16_JAZZL_UHD_BASIC, model=UA55KU6000”
Enabling/disabling direct play or direct stream makes zero difference (these were originally enabled). I’m running Plex Version 1.24.4.5081 and I don’t have a problem on any other device like iPhone, iPad or Windows PC. It also doesn’t matter whether the file type is MKV, MP4 or other.
Tried going back to an older server version and no dice. Still getting playback errors. Any fix in the works? This is unusable
I’ve same problem. Since last week i can’t play a lot of file on my Samsung TV. Please fix.
I figure I’ll throw my two cents in with this one. I had two Samsung users having no issues browsing my library, but could not stream any transcoded content. Direct play was, and has been fine with both users. Upon the release of 5.25.3 one of my users became unblocked, while the other still exhibits the issue. The user still impacted has tried logging all the way out and back in, as well as re-installing the app, with no change of behavior. But again, for my users the only issue has ever been with transcoded content.
I have the same thing with like 4 users. They can browse, and direct play works fine. Transcode they just get errors. One of them re-installed the app and no change. Working with the others now.
Some Reddit post claims this works.
Manuel enter server in settings
Worked for me after I changed “Allow insecure Connections” to Always and also changed “Perfer insecure Connections” to Always.
Worked for me after I changed “Allow insecure Connections” to Always
that’s not the issue people are currently having
the current issue is experienced after already having switched to insecure connections (and that worked, for a while)
happened after the latest Tizen app update, and now nothing will play, no matter your settings
I can confirm that in my case the problem lies in the transcoded contents. I have set the video quality to “8mbps, 1080p” for internet streaming. Smaller videos play correctly, while those that are transcoded do not. I tried to downgrade the server version, but the problem persists. At this point I think the problem is the TV app (Samsung 7 series).
Would be nice with some communication from Plex to acknowledge that there is still issues after the latest app update that was supposed to fix this!
not only “still issues” but completely new issues which made it way worse
at least there was a workaround that worked for the certificate issue, you could just allow insecure connections
now NOTHING will play, no matter your settings
Hi, I sent you the log 5 days ago but I didn’t have any confirmation.
Thanks
Samsung TV 2016 UE40KU6000
Tizen v2.4
Plex app v5.25.3
PMS v1.24.4.5081
Previous issue had at least workaround (allow insecure connection) but this? Nothing is playable.
I tried everything:
- reseting tv
- changing pms/app settings
- downgrading pms
So, yeah tv app is broken (5.25.3). Nice way how to go from broken cert to completely not working playback.
I somehow just got it working on my Samsung TV.
And as silly as it sounds, I think changing the app language from “English (UK)” to “English” is what did it.
