Samsung Frame TV - Completely Unusable

Hello, for about a month now I have been unable to view Plex content on my 2022 Samsung Frame TV using the Plex App. The content will load a black screen, with a seekbar, but no picture - it will then throw an error “Playback Error - An Unexpected playback problem occurred”. This content is Direct Playing on video and audio.

I had used this successfully for over a year, and it has just stopped working. this is a main TV in my house, and I need some guidance on how to get this working.

I have tried:
“re-installing” plex
deleting the application, redownloading, re-signing in.
I have tried allowing insecure connections. The server is on the same network as this TV.
On the plex dash, it even says my content is playing, and the connection is secure - until the error ends the stream.

@BigWheel @Craig_Holliday - do either of y’all know anyone over at Plex who can look into this and give me a hand? Its my main tv so this is a critical problem for my setup.

I am having the same issue on 2 Samsung Frame TV’s seemingly overnight.

In the console I am seeing this error:

I don’t think this will change things but there was an update yesterday. just wanted to check if still having issue with 5.93.1

This isn’t the server version it’s the web. There should be another general section a few down below the server name.

Seemingly overnight, both Frame TV’s in my house get error ‘Playback Error An unexpected playback problem occurred’. on anything I try to play.

I have set both server and client to allow insecure connections.
I have reinstalled the app on the TV and have tried multiple different versions of PMS software as well.

I have also turned off ‘Quality Suggestions’ on the client.

Nothing has helped so far.

Same issue on a Samsung TV from 2021 with the error “ERROR Playback error occurred. Reason: FailedToSetupOrCreatePlayer, Failed to create or setup player! Message: Cannot read property ‘continuity’ of undefined”

Worked flawlessly before I went on vacation, came home to an app that can’t play anything.

Why no support on this issue?

Looking at bug report this looks fix and should be in 5.93.2. I don’t know exactly when it will get released but should be soon

Discovered only this problem today and I was surprised that suddenly nothing is working in my Samsung TV.
Now im waiting for the new plex update. :frowning:

Same issue on my Samsung The Freestyle projector. I’ve been watching this thread for three days now. Like it if you have the same problem, so as not to clutter the thread with messages.

This issue is really weird, now i tried again and I can play the videos that cannot be played earlier. I did no changes/update on tv client and on local plex server, which makes me question if the tv client or local plex server need to check plex’ cloud server?

I just tried again on one of my TVs and it’s working for me now too. Very strange.

This should be fixed now in 5.93.2

Hi @Moussa I just tried this again and am still having the same problem as my original post at the top of the thread. I am now running client version 5.93.2, and PMS Version 1.41.9.9961. I have sent you a DM with my logs.
