On an M1 mac OS12.0.1 PMS version 1.24.5.5173
Every time I try to play I get the above message, All my media is on one drive. Nothing, including music will play.
This happened today.
I can play files directly from the HDD using quicktime. I have run disk utility and it found nothing.
Permissions on the drive are set to everyone.
Any suggestions please?
Same thing is happening for me after updating to macOS Monterey. I have verified that removable storage permissions are checked for Plex Media Server in Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Files and Folders. Also tried adding Full Disk Access to no avail. Tried rebooting. Verified that my username has read/write permissions on all of the media drives. Tried checking “Ignore ownership on this volume” in Get Info for all of the media drives. I’m also on an M1 mac PMS version 1.24.5.5173.
I finally found a solution that worked for me. Apparently the Monterey upgrade hosed file permissions. I ran the following command from Terminal to fix them:
diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u`
There’s some good information here: How to Fix or Repair Disk Permissions in macOS
Thank you, I will look into that. That’ll teach me for jumping on Monterey
Still cant get it to work. I am having same problem. I tried to add a new folder from the external hd and it dose not even show me the folders. if i check the user folder i get all the folders on the main computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated
