Playback error: Please check the permissions for this file

Hi, running Mac OS with 12.3.1. Plex server up to date and lately files have not been woking on when watching on the tv app so come down to the desktop and all files on my external drive are unavailable. In info it says inaccessible, and if i put my mouse over that it says ‘please check the permissions on this file’. it says this on all files that are on the external drive, the external drive is fine and files are there, this problem has just started in the last week. really annoying. any files that are on the internal drive are fine, its just on the external. Ran diagnostics on the external, all good. not sure what permissions i need to give or what now as this is how its been for years. Any thoughts, thanks

Found it the solution so it seems in another post on here that was a bit different but it solved my issue
