I’ve had the same issue as above for the last couple of weeks. Connecting to a remote server seemed to work with some videos but not others. I’ve just found a solution to this which I wanted to share in case it helps others.
The only change I needed to do was to set the “Remote quality” to “original” - note the default is “4Mbps 720p”. It appears there’s an issue with the transcoding which causes a playback error. I didn’t need to force the app to use any insecure connections as suggested in other fixes.
Helo! I have the same issue.
My TV is UN50TU7000G
Version Server Plex Version1.24.5.5173
Version Plex Web Versión 4.63.0
Version Plex TV Client 5.26.3
Platform Version 5.5
Version Samsung SO TV 2101
And when I try to play a movie, shows me the error “Unexpected reproduction error ocurred”
I try with the settings:
On TV - Settings → Advanced → Allow Insecure Connections** is set to Always,
On the server - Settings → Network → Secure connections** is set to Preferred.
But it doesn’t work.
Please, someone knows somethig how to fix this?
Thks
My problem is slightly different. Films play ok on all my TV’s and music plays on 3 out of 4 TVs including through an Amazon fire and Apple TV. But Plex on my new QE50QN94A TV will play some music files, but as far as I can tell, randomly fails to play others (they’re all m4a files). I get the usual unexpected playback error message but no codes or clues as to the possible cause. I’ve tried all the fixes and this still does not resolve the issue for me.
I can connect directly to my NAS and play music that way but the point is that Plex is not working correctly, it’s a widely experienced fault but the programmers just don’t seem to be resolving it.
