Hi - has anyone come across this error before when attempting to watch a specific channel?
I’m running Plex on an i3 NUC with a Hauppauge USB WinTV-dualHD tuner. I’ve selected 11 channels and all but one play fine - when I try to do live playback from one specific channel, I get the message above. The channel plays fine using the Hauppauge WinTV app, however the channel listings do not appear in the “Watch now” tab (I just see "Channel1, 2018, {time remaining} instead of programme details) and the programmes do not appear in the “Discover” tab.
In my experience, something will happen, I am guessing that maybe the channel stops being able to be tuned, and then no channels will work. I then have to either reboot or just unplug the USB Tuner and plug it back in to get it all working again. It has to be more resilient than it is in its current state. I have seen your issue and other issues as well. When I have a problem with one channel they all stop working.
In a previous setup where I had a splitter in the middle, Plex would stop tuning the channel but the tuner on the other device would tune it fine. I have since removed the splitter and things are better but something happened with a recording last night and I woke up this morning to “Unable to Play Live TV” or whatever. Unplugged the tuner, plugged it back in and all works again.
This problem seems slightly different - I have 11 active channels but the problem affects only one; after I get the error from the problematic channel I can still select any other active channel and it displays fine. If I return to the “bad” channel it still won’t work but none of the other channels are affected - I do not need to reboot the server or reset the tuner.
