When I watch live TV on Roku through Plex, I typically will get a Playback Error a few minutes in. Hitting OK takes me back to the live TV channel selection. If I just select the same channel again, I dont get the error again. Is this a buffering issue? Can anyone recommend a settings change?
Same exact issue, both Roku TV and Plex server are connected with cat5 (no wireless) I’m thinking its something to do with Roku or the Plex client version on Roku.
Error is “we could not reliably play your live tv channel, it may be due to a weak signal.”
This happens consistently regardless of live tv channel selected, all channels have strong antennae signal.
Using roku device plex app live tv buffers then fails with playback error
Try again starts but then buffers again at really low percentage 13% then playback error and wont restart
Started doing this yesterday so switched to Pluto app and no buffering issues
Now trying again today same but the watchlist selections play just fine
Has to be a live tv error somewhere
Update: I changed my tuner from Hauppage Win-TV QuadHD internal card to external HomeRun Quatro and having the exact same issue:
Select live TV channel, after a few minutes (usually less than 5, probably closer to 2-3 mins) the channel will do a loop back to the beginning of the broadcast (when I first selected the channel) and then throw the error "“we could not reliably play your live TV channel, it may be due to a weak signal.” when I click the “OK” button it drops me back to the TV guide, if I select the same channel again I won;t have any issues at all, no matter how long I watch the channel.
Doesn’t matter what channel I select and all channels have a good, strong, signal.
Very odd, its not a tuner or antennae issue, I’m sure of it. Seems more like the Plex version for Roku, not sure. Its annoying but not deal breaking. No other issues with movies or recorded content, just this with live TV.
