Playback freezing and screen garbling on latest version

is anyone experiencing issues with the latest version of Plex?

lve been having nothing but problems since l installed it with playback hanging for a few seconds to full screen garbling intermittently, so far lve only noticed it happening when playing files with subtitles… (l will be testing later if it affects normal files that dont have subtitles as lm just waiting on new content to test with) but from what my provider has said they cant see any issues serverwise and to be quite honest this issue has really only become a problem since l updated to the most recent version.

Can you provide some more details & finite information (logs, subtitle type, file type(s) ),
Linux distribution and version ? Which version of PMS (there are two)?

from what l see is Debian (Linux 4.19.40-xanmod21 #1.190505 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 5 18:39:25 -03 2019 x86_64 (copied from the ssh is all l could find out)

the version l tried was copied and pasted from the download page (l copied the version number and installed via ssh) l did also try --plex-version=“Latest” in the command as well.

as for file types the were soft subbed MKV (H.264 480p) with ASS subs, lm told there were allot of transcoder changes in the latest release so l have downgraded to the previous stable to see if my issues are still happening. as for logs have added.

l had already did that, but the page refused to work correctly hence shareing them remotely.

that site requires I provide an email address to obtain the download link. No thanks, not disclosing my private email address any more than necessary.

what about this one

just went with the first one l found on google that actually worked, this one should require any other information just direct download.

l will however note that l downgraded to 1.17.0.1709-982421575 and havent had any problems with playback (so far lve only played two files) but from what it seems 1.18.0.1846-f62172e99 is the problem whatever the transcoder changes were they seem to be the cause of my problem as lve not experienced any more issues so far since downgrarding.

Where can I get the earlier versions of the plexmediaserver RPMs. I am currently running 1.18 and having the player freeze is making viewing stuff with Plex very frustrating. Most of the suggestions for resolving this, at leat in the short term involve re-installing 1.14

l cant answer with certainty as lm sure other providers do it other ways, but with my current service (via ssh) the command is

app-plex upgrade --plex-version="#########"

“#####” would be the version number given l knew the previous versions release this page helped me find the version number that worked well for me: https://luenepiet.de/public/Synology/Plex%20(Server)/ARMv7/?C=M;O=D

ended up reverting to 1.17.0.1709-982421575, ld assume the command should be similar though there might be differences on the first part.

l doubt we will get any kind of help on this given that my post got ignored despite me uploading logs to a different file host because l couldnt get the logs to upload here.

dont get me wrong l like Plex, but have found the support lacking despite the fact l stumped up the cash for a lifetime pass and the only thing l feel lve gotten out of it so far is the ability to set up local managed users rather than actual help from Plex itself when l ran into an issue which is a bit of a letdown.
