“Playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media Server has been lost”

Hello everyone!

I have read loads of topics about this and didn’t find any solution so I mailed the support and they told me to make my own topic with debug logs and stuff.

So here I am! I don’t know what details you need since I am not good with this stuff so I just give you as much info as possible and then you just check out what’s useful for you to help me.

So I started to get this issue for like 3-4 days ago and I don’t know what to do and I have seen that this is a very common problem.

Before the problem occured I watched a movie with no problems and then I tried to watch another movie but it wouldn’t work.

So I tried to watch the movie I watched 5 mins earlier and it didn’t work this time so it seems very wierd…

I keep getting “Playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media Server has been lost” whatever I try to watch…

And there is no problem with my connection for sure I have never had a problem with it and I can’t find any now either.

I am using this TV: [55 LED -TV Philips 55PUS8503/12 UHD Smart]

I have the Plex Media Server on this computer:

I have upgraded my CPU to Intel Core i9 9900K 3.6 GHz 16MB and Motherboard to ASUS PRIME Z390-A

I don’t know If you need more info about something else, if you need just comment and I fix it as fast as possible.

I have uploaded my debug logs from the Plex Media Server and from my Android TV and you can find them at the bottom. The support told me to upload it as a ZIP/RAR and text document.

Hopefully someone can help me out with this crap, I appreciate all help I can get and sorry for my bad english. But I hope you guys understand.

Kind regards, Mattias

Anyone?

I have the same problem. I don’t even know how to add my specs to this log. I’ll be watching to see which solutions you discover.

ABLE TO USE MY MEDIA SERVER AGAIN.

I hope this isn’t temporary, but I am able to use the Plex tv program again.

I uninstalled the program from my computer, deleted all former downloads of the PLEX program, and then I went into the settings to change the name of my computer. I was hoping that if the program would install the new server (using the new name for my computer). Not sure whether or not it helped anything, but since it was a part of what I did, I didn’t want to leave it out.

After removing the program and renaming my computer, I downloaded the app from Microsoft (I have Windows 10). I had been using the downloads from the PLEX website previously. Once I installed, it initially tried to use the old server, but switched over to the new name. I restarted my computer to make sure it didn’t revert and then tried using the program on my mobile devices. It continues to work. It seems like a simple solution and I hope it helps others (this worked for PC users).

Okay good for you! I will try this and see if it works for me to.

I just turned on my plex app and tried a movie and now it worked… I didn’t do anything at all, so I guess that there’s been an update with a fix or something. I hope this isn’t temporary like you said before.

Glad to hear things are working for you again. I did review the logs you provided earlier. Your app log shows several network errors where the app could not connect to your server. I mostly see errors like this when there is an issue with the router unable to keep the connection going between the client and server. Next time you see this issue come up, try restarting your router.

I still get the same problem everytime I have been using the twitchapp before… Yeah it sounds really wierd but everytime I turning off the twitch app my plex app working again.
