Playback Issues with 2160p TrueHD7.1 Atmos on NVIDIA Shield Pro

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing playback issues on my NVIDIA Shield Pro when trying to play a 2160p (4K) video file that’s approximately 20GB in size with TrueHD7.1 Atmos audio.

The video starts playing for a few seconds, then stops to show the loading/buffering icon. After a while, it resumes playback for another few seconds, and this cycle continues.

I’ve already checked my network setup and ensured the Shield is updated to the latest firmware, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or have suggestions on how to resolve this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

99% of the time it’s a file issue. It may be packaged with a bunch of extras like other sound tracks. remux out just the main movie and soundtrack.

Thanks for your answer. File did have 2 audio but this isn’t the issue. I think has to do with the AV1 codec… I have read that Shield can’t handle it… Trying to convert it using libx265…

Correct. Don’t download the av1 files stick to mkv

Hi. Finally I found that the issue is that Shield cannot handle AV1 encoded files… Converted to HEVC and worked like charm!

Thank you for your time and assistance
