Playback issues

I have a Hisense tv & Plex was working fine, then all of a sudden I keep getting this error.

There was a problem playing this item.

The video did not start in time

Any help would be appreciated

Does this happen with all media you play now or only 1 file?
Are you direct playing the file or transcoding?
Have you tried restarting your server?

Hi, thanks for reply, I’m a bit new to all this.

It works fine when I try to watch something off my server, but as soon as I try my mates that used to work I can’t play anything. I can see his entire library but can’t play any file.

I have the same issue, was working flawlessly with my VU TV last night and today it isn’t working.

Most of my 1080p/720p content is not playing at all, even the movie I was watching last night.

I noticed however I have some SD content which still plays. Has there been a recent server update which is causing these issues?

If your server is working fine, but your mates server isn’t, then more likely its your mates server with the issue and not you. I would get in contact with him and see whats up.

OK, so HD content is not playing… how are you trying to play it? Direct Play, Transcode? Direct Stream? Post your server logs so we can take a look.

Everything works fine on my PC, I can play all of Ben’s files, its the Hisense tv that isn’t working on his files only, I can play all of my stuff on the Hisense. I have no idea why.

Here are my logs.

I’m not sure how to check how I’m playing the content, can you help me find out?

Also, videos are playing on the same TV via DLNA but not via the Plex app.

@Kraevin any thoughts here?

Ill take a look at your logs when i get home.

Thanks @Kraevin. I’ll look forward to your response.

@apsk121 & @Katlad i apologize for the delay, i have been sick with the flu.

@apsk121, i was looking at your logs, i saw “[Now] Device is Opera (Plex for Unknown Manufacturer (Opera TV Store)).” I saw a few other threads where other users with Hisense TV’s are having issues playing media. If i had to take a guess, i would say your running into the same issue…

Also on your Plex Media Servers, do you have secure connections disabled?

Thanks for reply, not sure where that setting is, I have tried to find it. Reading the other discussion its looking like its the Tv software updates that might have caused the problem.
