Been using Plex for a few years without any issues and woke up one morning last week and it’s stopped playing movies on my TV. I have all my media on NAS and my laptop is the server and all has been working flawlessly with the Plex app on the TV. Suddenly movies are not loading on the TV. I can view the media library fine but when I press play on a movie it just stops at the loading phase with the 3 dots on the screen. Music still plays and some TV shows play however if i’m watching a TV show and try to turn on the subtitles it doesn’t load similar to the movies.
I think perhaps an update somewhere has stuffed it all up, whether it’s the VPN or maybe the latest Windows update, I don’t know. Tried heaps of different things and searched online for a fix but haven’t been able to get it working properly. It’s annoying since the home network media set up has been working so well since I set it up and now there’s this random problem and I can’t watch my movies now. Watching movies through the Plex server on the laptop is fine so the issue seems to be with the app on the TV.
I’ve downloaded the logs from the server but can’t really make any sense out of them.
If anyone has any advice i’d be most grateful.
