Playback on nVidia Shield will stutter/pause on 1Gbps network, despite ample resources available

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: Plex for Android 7.18.1.1130

Playing a 4k mkv remux (direct play, no transcoding) and have noticed that whenever the network usage does this, playback will eventually pause or stutter…

Once bandwidth changes from the intermittent bursts of data (the left side of the bandwidth graph, above) to a steady stream, as happens at the 50s point in the image above, the video playback will eventually pause or stutter.

The Plex server and nVidia Shield are on the same 1Gbps network.

Also seeing this issue during playback in Kodi via the Plex addon, also on the Shield.

Also saw this when I had Plex Server at version 1.16.3.1402, but I then downgrade to 1.14.1.5488 to see if that would get rid of the issue but it didn’t. Any thoughts as to how to keep playback from doing whatever it is doing in the image above? Thank you

have you installed the 7.2.3+ test image from nvidia which solves these kinds of issues with the SHIELD?

Was not aware of this test image. Thank you for the heads-up.

Updating this for those who are having the same issue… the upgrade to the nVidia Shield 7.2.3+ test image appears to have fixed the issue.
