"playback will occur on the Alexa device" how to not make it happen?

my echo can play back music on itself

but i want plex to play music on the plex player connected speakers.

according to plex support,

Tip! : If you’re playing music/audio and do not specify another Plex app as the player, playback will occur on the Alexa device (e.g. the Echo).

currently, i have plex server running on a pc called gaming. then i downloaded the windows app, plex player. then on plex server selected the plex player as player.

finally, i asked alexa to change player to gaming. it even replied with your primary player is set to gaming. but music still comes out of echo itself not my pc connected speaker.

where did i do wrong?

Unfortunately, setting the default player only works for videos. Music will always default to the Alexa device itself. To play music onto another Plex client, you need to specify it explicitly.

“Alexa, tell Plex to play Tom Petty on [insert the friendly name of the Plex client here”

so in my case, i have plex player installed on my pc called gaming. (running both server and player)

saying, alex ask plex to play music on gaming, should play music on the gaming plex player?

Yes. Since you tried setting “gaming” as the default player, then that should be the correct name. You just have to use that name when playing music.
