So I have looked at the past posts and I am not sure if my issue is the same as others. It seems some are affected by an issue that is keeping them from playing any of their movies. I am not having this issue.
However, I do have an issue where I am unable to play any movie that I purchased and downloaded from the xBox movie store. All other movies play just fine.
Is this a DRM issue or a Plex app issue? It seems to me that it should play just fine.
Any help would be appreciated.
Most likely it would be a DRM issue. But what does media info or the xml for the video file show?
To view the XML go into the movie pre-play page with your web browser and hit the i key. This will bring up a popup and in the lower corner is a link to ‘View XML’

I opened it and it looked like the other movies that play.
The more research I do the more I am seeing that maybe Plex does not support play back for any DRM files even if it is on a supported device. HOWEVER, I haven’t found any thing from Plex itself stating it doesn’t play these files.
You’re going to look at the codecs on the file. On files that are detected as DRM they are listed as DRM encodings.
DRM support isn’t a blanket for all software on a device it still requires the support of the software to authorize the decoding which typically is not granted to apps not apart of the ecosystem for where the media came from.
