Playlist posters don't get to clients

I noticed in a recent release that the ability to add custom posters to playlists was added. I tried it out, and it works in Plex Web. But it appears that they don’t feed through to clients. I’ve always wondered if those posters were fed from the server, or if the clients auto-generate them. Looks like the clients make their own.

A little more info. On my Android TV client (nVidia Shield, build 8.21.0.26974), when I open a playlist, the detail page briefly displays the custom playlist poster, then changes to the poster associated with the first track in the playlist.

Going back out to the top Playlist page, some Playlist posters have changed to a random single poster from one album (not the custom poster), rather than the 4-poster montage. Those playlists were created using TeknoJunky’s random playlist tip.

I don’t see that back-and-forth behavior on iOS but the iOS client seems not to be able to properly deal with custom playlist posters. Plexamp does show the custom posters on all platforms though.

So it looks like there’s some work to do on some of the clients.

Same issue here. PMs runs on QNAP, through Nvidia Shield into my AVR & TV.

On the web app I created custom posters for my playlist and it works fine. But it it is not going through to any of my clients. No Nvidia Shield, IOS, etc …

Sucks …

I’m having this same problem too. The proper picture shows up on the web but not on any clients that I currently own. At least I’m not the only one. I hope this gets addressed.
