First Post here... aren't you the lucky ones!
OK, so I installed PLEX for the first time yesterday and have been fiddling pretty much all day with it... Plex that is... :)
I initially installed the MEDIA SERVER on my newer ultra-book (VAIO) last night to 'get a feel for it' - and on my Nexus 4 (android), to push through to my TV/Projector via Chromecast... and then finally on My PS3 to see if I was going to go for it 100%...
After some teasing I managed to get the Plex running across all the above. So far so good, the only dissappointing point is that I can't access my NAS drive (IOMEGA Media Hub), but on the whole, went to bed happy, thinking about the next step.
Which was to pull out an old DELL Laptop I had gathering dust, do a clean install/factory reset and use it primarily as my 'always on' media server. Which is where I'm at now.
I've uninstalled the server off the VAIO and got things running on the old DELL - copied some stuff over from the NAS onto the local drive and I'm fairly happy with how things are going... Most of this controlled via my smartphone & chromecast.
Which brings me to the point of this post - Having booted up the PS3 to test out that's functionality (with more content) - it's asking for the whereabouts of the old server (on the VAIO?) - I re-enteredd the pin into the Ps3 via the https://plex.tv/pin link...
...the PS3 goes through the motions of appearing to connect but then reveals the error - effectively looking for old (yesterdays... aka: temporary test) Plex Media server from the Vaio...
I've uninstalled the PS3 app, and re-installed it... and tried again, but alas, no joy.
The only thing I can think of is that there's some temp files somewhere on the PS3 HD that isn't being purged that's pointing to the old server...
Any other help greatfully receieved...
