I’m just wondering if this suggestion has actually been addressed with the release of the Player Experience options.
From what I can see, this should be working on Chromecasts running Android/Google TV. Similarly it should work for other devices casting to a Chromecast compatible device.
In that case, I would consider this suggestion as “implemented”.
