The new desktop Windows application has subtitle size selection accessible in the settings on the player itself, but no color and position selection.
Subtitle color would be best placed in the general settings area, like on the old web-based player.
Position would be best implemented similar to the VLC player - with up and down arrows on the keyboard when playing a movie.
I never liked the PMP to use on a desktop PC. Can’t remember the reasons.
I use the $15 Windows Store player, or the Web player.
A few days ago I received an email announcing the abandonment of the Windows Store app, and creation of this new Windows player, so I installed it and tried it.
And I posted my suggestions for improvement.
There are many Plex players, but it would be good if one of them was perfect.
What I mostly do these days when watching on my desktop, I select the movie from Plex library which shows the art and description, and then find the folder on my PC and play the movie with VLC player.
That gives me full control over subtitles - which I use with all movies - and volume adjustment with the mouse wheel, which does not bring up the annoying on-screen panel which obstructs subtitles and stays on for too long.
That was for private desktop watching.
For streaming to the family TV, I have the Shield TV box. The new Android TV Plex app is now OK.
