Unfortunately the new redesigned Plex App has many users frustrated and disappointed initially.

Plexamp Team, please take your time getting Plexamp 5 well tested before releasing. Plexamp v4 is working great, so we can wait for v5 when it has been thoroughly tested and ready for public consumption.

Unfortunately rolling back to previous versions is nearly impossible on mobile devices and we would prefer not to get stuck in the position we are currently with the new Plex App.

If I may, I’d like to express the same sentiment.

I love Plexamp. It’s how I listen to music throughout the day, I can’t even imagine how many hours I spend with this app in a month. If a new update of the Plexamp app was to be released in a similar state to what happened with the new Plex Experience redesign, it would be devastating. And yeah, especially since on many devices we can’t roll back to previous versions.

And Plexamp is actually the only “player” app from Plex I’m using right now. Not by choice – I would LOVE to be able to also use the video player apps on all my devices – but it has always been so difficult to do. It’s still impossible to use the Apple TV app, and the iOS app was always so frustrating to use (and it’s now so much worse with the new Plex Experience app that was recently released…)

So please make sure Plexamp v5 is actually a better app for the end users. Not a worse, crippled one with an uncountable number of performance and usability problems.

Of course we will!

Biggest risk to v5 (when it’s actually close to being done, which it’s not) is too many new features and instability common to a vX.0.0 release. But we’re adding lots, not removing anything.

Exclusive mode by itself would be worth an upgrade, and perhaps filters for radio stations (eg you choose a mood station though can specify only for a genre or/and year or/and rating)?

50% of the reason I bought a plex pass, and another for my wife, and encouraged my brother to get another…is plexamp.

breaking plexamp would break a lot of the thread still holding me in the plex universe with this current mobile app.

good god i hope the shield app doesn’t start pushing all the TV bullshit on me or i’ll run off to emby or somewhere pretty quick i think. i’m super busy and super lazy and don’t want to do that :expressionless:

Hello, will we be able to beta test Plexamp 5? As a heavy Plexamp user, I would really like to see the progress of the application.
