That doesn’t seem to be possible with a single library:
However…
You can add a library for new items, invoking Detection on that library only - and suffer the ‘Recently Added’ consequences… or…
You can turn off Detection and do it manually <— doesn’t sound good to me either.
Then there’s always - let it happen during maintenance for an hour or two a night and eventually it will be over. I did my 20TB in a week… or two… didn’t really pay much attention and if the process hadn’t reached a show, I invoked it manually… occasionally.
