I think during the last year Plex developers are almost exclusively focusing on upgrading Live TV features, which is not a bad thing, but to be honest I find that I am never going to watch any of the live TV channels, or watch any of the non attractive B movies that are being included in the Movies&TV section. All I’m doing is disabling new features being added constantly. Plex used to differentiate itself from other platforms by focusing on the user’s personal media, that “media paradise” that is being advertised. Since almost any of the personal media features is being upgraded at all, I decided to quit my Plex Pass subscription, tired of endlessly waiting for useful updates to improve my media organisation. Initially i was attracted to Plex because i could organise all the photos in my NAS nicely without having to pay monthly for a cloud service. But now I’m considering looking for different options because my hope for improvements is already very small. I suggest that features should be updated in parallel: keep improving your live TV service (you guys are doing a good job), but please, do not abandon the rest of Plex. Some features I’m missing from the photo section:

Improve the geotagging system. Make Plex able to recognise the GPS metadata on pictures and make the map available in all platforms, not only on mobile devices. Something similar to Apple photos would be simply awesome, a map where you can see all the pictures in the hard drive located in the map. This could be a new option next to library and timeline view.

We REALLY need a system to be able to manage our photos a little more accurately. The fact that you can only select one by one is very, VERY uncomfortable. Multiple selection and bulk download is needed for those of us who dedicate professionally to photography. Also I can’t download pictures from the MAC app, not sure if this is normal or just my laptop’s problem.

I keep reading posts asking for a proper slideshow feature for photos since 2014. Is that ever gonna happen?

In the photos timeline would be awesome having the ability to zoom out a little further, being able to see many months/years in the same screen, while the photo row becomes very tiny. (similar to apple photos again)

Plex could recognise live photos from iphones and be able to play them.
Apart from photos, I think it would be quite pleasant to really be able to personalise the home screen hubs. The hubs are quite static and simplistic, and don’t allow the user to really create a personalised home screen environment. Maybe this can be done simply by adding collection hubs to the home screen.
