Please help with TV show metadata

Hi everyone
I’m new to Plex
I have spent a good deal of the day trying my best to fix this problem on my own/with the help of multiple forum posts with similar problems but cannot fix it.

My TV shows, when added, continue to be placed under the wrong show, despite correct naming format.
None of the files are MP4, most are avi or mkv.

I used filebot to name the files and this is an example:
filenameexample

I have performed many Plex Dances.
I have renamed TV series before plex has ever seen them, but when added they are still added in with another TV series.

I have tried de-prioritising local file data in the agent settings.

At the moment my only option is to create a new library for each TV series, so that I can manually match the files to the TV show for each season, as I cannot fix the metadata on an individual episode level.

Is there any other steps I can take? Is there something obvious I am missing?

I can’t see the root of your paths above, but can we assume its something like:
D:\TV Shows\30 Rock\Season 03\30 Rock – s03e21 – Mamma Mia.avi

Your Library folder path is D:\TV Shows (in this example)

Anytime you made a change to the files, paths, or library settings you did a full PLEX Dance:

  1. remove both movies (or TV shows, or music) from library
  2. update library
  3. empty trash
  4. clean bundles

  5. bring names and structures into compliance
  6. replace corrected movies into library
  7. update library
