I’m so frustrated with many things but I’ll try to limit venting.
The main thing I need help with is:
When I hover over my plex app on my Samsung TV, it shows “newly added movies” I cannot figure out how to remove this. I’ve search every forum post. I cannot find any settings. I’ve X-ed out every thing from my home screen customization in my server page. I’ve signed out and signed back in to app. Still, REcently added is there.
Also, when I press Home in my app, REcently added movies are there.
When I go into REcommended (not that I want to, just saying) all of the stupid categories are there. On Deck. Top So and So Movies. I cannot get these to stop displaying here.
I just want a clear home page without any garbage categories or suggestions and clutter nad cannot figure out how to do that.
Also, ever since the most recent update, the list view seems to have disappeared. Is this the case? WHY woul;d I only want the option to see everything organized by album art, so that it takes 10 times as long to scroll through media? That’s insane.
Ok, I’m sorry for the frustration, but really, I’m very frustrated. Plus, there is just no way to contact anyone at Plex other this this forum seemingly, which is mind-numbingly difficult to navigat.
If anyone can offer some advice, I will forever be in your debt. Thank you.

That’s the SmartHub integration.
To disable this, I think you need to go back to the Preview/Beta version, then go to Settings → Experience.
Scroll down to the bottom, there is SmartHub toggle.
It says it updates every 10 minutes for any changes to be reflected, maybe you have to wait.
You lost me at step 1 (go back to the Preview/Beta version). Is that in the Plex app on my Samsung TV? Or is that in the Plex client that I access from my browser? And what do you mean by “go back”? Either way, I’m not seeing any relevant options.
I fear that your probably right. But there just HAS to be a solution…doesn’t there? Surely I’m not the only Plex user in the entire world that has these problems and wants to try and fix it…
Yes that’s what I meant. And thanks. Because I just realized that while it looked as if that setting wasn’t there, it was actually just hidden and appeared when I continued to scroll. Silly, considering there’s a ton of space there to display option it just randomly cuts off at 7 options. Anyways, thanks very much fro helping solve this for me.
Now if only Plex would re-add list view after inexplicably removing it for some strange reason…
Well, the new preview version that you are on
I think will get more feature-parity to the old version as it gets updated.
In the meantime you can still revert to the old version, in the samsung tv plex app, scroll up to your profile picture the enter, there is an option to leave the preview.
This will reset the client app settings and you have to relogin.
You can’t remove Recently Added ____ from the home screen. There’s no home screen customization in the preview release of the app. If you want them removed from the smart hub, you can disable them in your Settings -> Experience -> Smart Hub
For me that doesn’t work disabling the Smart Hub integration. It is still there and showing recently added but its an old list and it never updates anymore. Worked the first time it was enabled with the latest update and after that it has never updated itself.
