Plex 1.13.6.176-dd1845234 stops working on DSM 6.2.1-23824

Server Version#:1.13.6.176-dd1845234
Player Version#: 1.13.6.176

At least once every other day I have to reboot my Synology NAS 418, in order to restart the plex server… Any way to automatically set this up to just restart the plex media server?

When you restart it, would you please grab the ZIP (download logs) ?

These, with DEBUG logging previously set; not VERBOSE, will let us see what happened.

Can you describe what is causing you to reset it?

WHich log files are you interested in?

The one you deleted. I can see it for a few minutes. I am reading it now. Thanks.

I see part of the problem. I do not know if this is the root or not.

iOS and Android are known platforms.

More importantly, above that, it is losing connectivity to Plex.tv

Your server is coming to a full halt (connectivity wise) and won’t respond to any of the players.

I would very much like for you to consider upgrading from this Alpha test ARMv8 alpha to the newer version in the Forum Preview thread "Hopefully smaller, faster … ". It’s profoundly improved. We’ve solved all the known issues now.

I have downloaded and installed this version, thanks I will gladly participate.

Is there a difference in how Plex handles transcoding or just transmitting of AVI, M4V, MKV, and MP4 files, sometimes I get a message my network is not fast enough to convert the AVI or MKV type file movies…This can be on an IPhone or my TV running Android OS.

Should I be converting all my movies to be MP4 ?

Thank you for the in depth response! I was thinking of using handbrake as well.

I wanted to let you know with the Alpha version Much faster (hopefully), smaller (mostly) and better PMS builds preview (1.15.0.550-20055f39b) installed, I have no Plex server outages. Movies stream without fail on my Sony Android OS tv, my Iphone 8, an Android Samsung S8, and lastly my IPAD 2. The server is on a DS418 Arm 8. DSM 6.2.1-23824 version.

Would it be fair, since things are working now, to mark this thread solved and close it since you’re no longer using 1.13.6 ?
