Plex 1.18.2.2058 suddenly stopped working. Process runs but no icon in task bar

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058
Player Version#: 1.18.2.2058
I went to play something and my server was offline. Expected maybe it crashed but there was the icon in the taskbar. I closed Plex and launched it again expecting it would work. Nope… I get the process in task manager. But nothing in the task bar. I can’t connect locally or remotely.

Tried rebooting. Repairing the installation. Uninstalling and re-installing. The only thing of note is the repair and install take a long time to finish. Not sure what is going on. It’s been working fine for years on the same Windows 10 Desktop.

Help!

This might be the same issue I’m having. I’ve tried everything that you have done. Here’s my post. Hopefully this can get resolved:

1.18.2.2058 killed my server as well on Windows 10. I was running just fine for over a year and after I updated to the latest version, nothing is working.

I go into my home screen, where you can see the latest added movies etc. (shows the front covers of the blu-rays) and life is good. I then remotely try to start a movie or watch a TV show and it hangs and does nothing. Then, the home screen of Plex freezes. If I’m in the dashboard view, where you can see real-time CPU, network bandwidth etc, and a stream is started, the whole screen freezes. Nothing I do fixes it, and I’ve been messing with it for hours. I’m pissed!

I think the lesson to learn here is to NEVER, EVER update your server software if it’s working fine. Or, at least wait a while to make sure people aren’t bitching up a storm about an update before applying it.
