Using a nvidia shield tv as server and playback device. Latest server and app versions installed.
So living here in Colombia in the middle of nowhere… and I do mean nowhere… the internet goes down often. How do I configure Plex (server or app side) to work just as fast as when there is internet? When the internet is working everything is nice and fast, but when internet goes down it takes a very, very, very… long time for anything to load. Is there a way to speed this up when there is no internet? Perhaps a server side configuration that I am missing?
Only thing I can find on the latest version of the App is “Allow insecure connections” under Advanced setting… it was set to “Never” so I changed it to “On same network” .
Yea, that’s the setting and that’s what it should be set to.
Not sure if after fiddling with security reboots all around might be in order, but give everything (server, devices, router, modem, blender…) a reboot and see what happens.
Also just noticed ur using a Shield. I have no experience with a Shield. Also I can’t see that you said if you were using Plex Home - that may change this game entirely, for all I know.
After a reboot and disconnection the internet it seems to function just fine. Some movies did not load but that seems to be an issue with the movie as it did the same after connection back up the internet. Will report back after the next big internet outage here in Colombia if things flake out.
