Plex adds voice actors which are not part of the cast for my shows.
They are English voice actors, but since my shows aren’t in English they must not appear.
Wrong metadatas is a bug.
IF you think it’s fair to include dub voice actors in metadatas, then why not add the Spanish language voice cast as well ? What about the Polish voice cast ? And the Malaysian one ?
If my shows were actually dubbed in English, it would be OK, but this is not the case. So, for me the Actors list is just wrong. And this is a bug.
You might want to raise that with the The Movie Database or TheTVDb. From all I can find they don’t support information about what language a cast member is covering / dubbing.
As far as I can tell, TMDB only wants users to include the original cast – not the cast of dubbed versions or alternative cuts. It seems not all users go with this guidance… so you’re free to bring this up with their mods/admins. I don’t think Plex will be able to fix this on their end (especially if there’s no way to see for which translation an actor contributed to the dub) https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/movie/59f3b16d9251414f20000003
Thank you for the informations. It turns out Plex series agent does no longer fetches informations from TMDB or TheTVDB, but IMDB.
Unfortunately, while they do not allow cast for dubbed version, they’re making an exception for english dubs.
I don’t think the cast is sourced from IMDb… I recently applied some fixes on TMDb and they’ve all been showing up in my library after refreshing my library’s metadata.
