Am I the only one whose Agent Settings aren’t being saved? If not, can you, Plex, please fix this annoying problem? Thank you.
If you’re talking about that annoying ‘default’ agent setting in a library edit window I think you can disregard it. Even thought it stubbornly shows up defaulted to something stupid, when you change it and apply it it has worked… you just don’t know it’s worked.
If you have another ‘issue’…
Log Files:
Drag the zip file onto a message window and drop it.
If you refer to the behaviour of the Cloud PMS, yes that is currently an unfixed bug on there.
It is a product still in development.

Curious if your issue is the same as mine. Example: I got to Settings > Player and click on Show Advanced. I want to make sure it’s set to directly play AC3 audio, so I go ahead and tick “Allow Direct Play of AC3 Audio.” Then I save the changes.
Problem is, the next time I open my browser, that direct play AC3 audio option won’t be ticked. That means Plex is needlessly transcoding files, taxing everything.
What’s more strange is when I do tick that option and play an mkv file with AC3 audio, it doesn’t transcode (like it should). But if I un-tick that box, save changes and go back and play that same file, it doesn’t look like it’s transcoding anything.
So I just can’t tell when the settings are being saved or not.

Completely different issue.
- all settings under
Webare stored in the browser. If your browser erases all cookies when you close it, all these settings will revert to their defaults.
Most web browsers have a preference to erase session data and caches when you close them.
You need to tell your browser to retain cookies from these domains:
plex.tv
app.plex.tv
local_ip_of_your_plex_server
In Chrome for instance you’ll find those settings under
Settings - Advanced Settings - Privacy - Content Settings - Cookies - Manage Exceptions
If you use 3rd party software to erase usage traces (CCleaner etc.) you need to define exceptions in there as well.
- The overwhelming majority of web browsers cannot play back AC3 audio. Activating this option is useless there.

Ah-ha! Changes made in settings. Let’s see if that makes a difference.
Cheers.
(FWIW, I’m sending the videos from Plex via Chromecast to a television, which can and does play AC3 audio.)
Hello,
Thanks for your replies. I mean when you go to Settings->Server->Agents. If I select or re-arrange the order of agents, alle checkboxes are unselected if I switch to another agent or go back.

I can confirm what the OP is reporting. I went to my Movies > Plex Movie agent list, and moved OpenSubtitles to the top of the list, just to experiment. Plex correctly placed the agent where I dropped it. I then clicked on the “The Movie Database” button, which showed that agent list. Then, without doing anything else, I clicked back to the Plex Movie list. OpenSubtitles was back at the bottom of the list, instead of the top, where I left it.
Plex Web Version 2.13.0
PMS Version 1.4.1.3362 on Linux Mint 17.1 64-bit
Firefox browser
Hm, I cannot confirm this. I use the same web version.
Do you see a difference between local vs. hosted Plex Web?

Will have to try local when I’m at the server tonight.

I can say that I experience this as well. I am local to my plexmediaserver:
pms 1.3.4.3285 on ubuntu xerial
plex web 2.13.0, connecting from Firefox 51 on OSX

Same behavior in local Plex Web.
Same issue here. Running 1.4.2 on Win 10
Same experience. No save button. Changes not saved when I switch to a different server and then back in the same session.
Synology 1515+
Version 1.4.2.3400
WHS2011
Version 1.4.1.3362
Is this getting addressed? My new movies only have a picture for the movie and background, no descriptions, yea, actors, nothing… I can not save changes as there is no “Save Changes” button under server/Agents still.
I am on Version 1.4.3.3433 Win10
I keep running into the same bug… I upgraded to Plex Pass to use Plex Cloud, and I can’t properly access my library because the agent settings won’t save and consequently, no subtitles are added.
This is a major pain in the as*, does anybody know why it’s taking so long to fix? It shouldn’t be hard.
EDIT: I’m adding my logs.
+1 .
same issue here, no save button so i cannot enable opensubtitles agent.
I am using web client with plex cloud server.
Please report all issue with Plex Cloud in its appropriate subforum.

This is a known issue with Plex Cloud btw.
Restart your server. That worked for me.
