Hi everyone. On Live TV and DVR if I select What’s On and scroll down to Movies on Later. I begin selecting movies I want to record from TV and click, confirm, etc. Then I realise after spotting this first screenshot something’s up: Plex is allowing me to select simultaneous recordings. Surely that’s a bug and it can’t do that with a single tuner? The second screenshot shows the DVR schedule and it confirms what I thought - there are overlapping recordings that can’t be made?
This is normal behavior. Plex will record whichever one starts airing first. If there are multiples starting at the same time then it will use the priority set in your recordings. Any that can’t record due to conflicts will be recorded when the movie airs again and the cycle repeats.
For recordings which conflict, and for which no alternate airing is available, you should see a resolution dialog when attempting to shedule the conflicting one:
Hi, thanks for the reply. I have adjusted any recordings that Plex has highlighted as conflicts already. The remaining ones (where there are still overlaps) Plex doesn’t think there is a problem. Plex also thinks I only have 1 tuner.
Thanks for the reply. I haven’t set any priority so I guess it will just record one of them anyway? The part that doesn’t make sense is that sometimes Plex will recognise that there is a conflict and prompt me and other times do nothing?
And I just checked these two recordings that looked like they overlapped on that first screenshot. The second, Entertainment, is a partial recording, just an hour long instead of two.
